After Christine's return from China
A detailed report about Christine's China Trip

Well known - not only in our region - is the name Christine Dumbsky. The artist, who lives in Sommerach since 12 years came back a few days ago to Frankonia. In the far east, she attended an international group exhibition of the Hua Cui Artist Community of Tianjin. Six of her artworks were shown together with artworks form artists of Austria, Finnland, China and the USA.

In june this year, she got the definitive Invitation to the exhibit, just some days after Peking did get the confirmation that the Olympic Game would be held there in 2008. With quite some difficulties she had to cope with regarding the short time to prepare for the exhibit. Mainly the transport of the artworks had caused quite some work to her. "There was a sculpture, which I had to hand over as a guest gift to the organizers. Only the weight of the packing was about 40 kg at first. At the end I took the box with the sculpture with me with my luggage, otherwise the cost for sending would have been not affordable at all."

The Opening was attended by numerous most important politicians, art-professors and artists from China and other countries. The whole exhibition was very well organized.

"Personally, for me it was an enrichment in any case", says the artists. Miss Dumbsky was extremely fascinated of eastern art facing western art. In particular Christine was very pleased of the mother of the director of the art-school, the founder Ms Gu Yingzhi, well known in China as the "Queen of cats", for her famous cat-paintings. "After Ms. Gu Yingzhi formerly saw my paintings, she did her first erotic art-work, I have been told".

Apart of the exhibit and the visit of the art-school, there have been many travels scheduled, which impressed Christine Dumbsky much. "We saw the Chinese Wall as well as Peking, of course".

And what is planned for the future?
In connection with the Gallery Lüne-Art in Lüneburg, one of her sponsors, as well as the Winzerkeller in Sommerach, it is planned to participate a project of the "Vogelpark Region Walsrode". At this event - scheduled for next year - many artists from all over the world will show artistically designed Tucans.
As well as an exhibit in Boston is planned. Regarding to the worse case of terrorism that happened to the USA, she's not yet sure about accepting the invitation at this time.

Christine commited heart and soul to the wish, to repeat such a exhibit in her home country. "I would like to see a comparable exhibition in Germany for Chinese artists, to show western and eastern Art."

"Although China is not a rich country, they took care of covering all the costs locally. This standard should be provided at least as well, if such an exhibit could be done in Germany, but it could only be done with support on a governmental level."
